What’s this coffee like?

Sigri coffee is known for its well-rounded character, delightful fragrance and subtle flavour.

The 4 estates that make up Sigri cover over 40,000 acres and are at 1550m altitude. The name is that of the fresh water spring that runs all the way through the estates, water from which is used for irrigation and the washing process that is carried out on the green beans.

Medium roasting gives these beans a beautifully well-rounded character, with a full-body and a hint of gentle acidity.

All our coffees are 100% arabica beans, and are freshly ground for your order.

How should I brew it?

This bean lends itself particularly to cafetière & filter preparation. Best enjoyed without milk. However, any bean can be brewed in any way if ground correctly, so have fun experimenting!

How do I keep it fresh?

After opening, any bags of coffee are best kept frozen. Store them in an airtight plastic box, not loose in the freezer. The ground coffee remains as granules and does not need to be defrosted before you use it. It’s easy just to scoop out what you need and replace the rest in the freezer to maintain maximum freshness (up to 12 months, though we don’t think it will last that long!). Beans may be frozen too, but it’s recommended to defrost these before putting them in a domestic grinder.

If freezing is not an option, any coffee should be stored in an airtight container and kept somewhere cool, dark and dry.
